For many years, King Arthur Flour Company was operating their Retail Store from a lovely small building that also included their Baking Center and their Education Center (as seen on my "2002 Class" page). Behind that building was a much larger and newer beautiful building that originally housed their Administrative Offices. As retail business grew over the years, so did that little store drastically outgrow itself.

In November, 2004, a number of huge changes took place. All of those offices and the Call Center were moved to their Fulfillment Center down the road (Rte 5), and their retail wares were expanded and moved into the beautiful larger building, seen in the photos below. Numerous customer accomodations and comforts previously unavailable were built in and the whole place is just gorgeous! Many items prominently featured in the store are in addition to what we see in their Baker's Catalogue.

Management of the Retail Store has been managed throughout by Cindy Fountain, who never fails to welcome everyone into the store as if they are "family". The staff is just as friendly and helpful! Soon, this will be known as their "Flagship Store" as plans are afoot to open another retail store somewhere in the U.S.

Front of the new store with a huge convenient parking lot. There are also tables at the side of the building for snacking and relaxing. This is the Education Center at the rear of the original building. The Baking Center is also still there and is expanding.
In the center of the store is a beautiful circular staircase and kiosk offering tempting things to put into your shopping cart. At one side is the baked goods counter, and believe me, it does a terrific business!
On another side, in the center of this photo, is a little kitchen area where something is always being made and baked, no matter what time of day (oh yes, there are freebies to eat, too!) Here I am, posing with King Arthur. He is just inside the front door and invites everyone to sit, don the crown, and have a photo taken. (note that I am really much prettier than this! ahem)
