After three years' dearth of KAF visits due to uncontrollable circumstances, early in March, 2005 I heard about Peter Reinhart's hands-on whole grain bread-baking class to be held in August---so you know, I registered and off we went! What a terrific class--no novices, everyone seemd to know what to do, and the next-best thing to actually making the dough was chowing down on a real picnic afterwards. KAF provided the yummiest cold cuts and pasta salad, all to make sandwiches with Peter's bread.
Peter Reinhart greets the room full of all his fans and groupies. Peter is explaining the different processes that go into making whole greain bread doughs and preparing to turn us loose on our own.
Peter volunteered 2 from the class to demonstrate mixing and kneading all that very sticky dough. Here are (left to right) Bob, Me, and Susan getting Peter's critique of a huge bowl of that sticky dough that we mixed up.
Here is the classroom in the education center after we got through messing it all up. Peter is cutting up his wonderful Whole Wheat Foccacia, making it ready for us to make Panini with the cold cuts and Zach's yummy Cobb Hill cheeses.
Now we get to really chow down!! Were we hundry or what?! This is Susan, my partner in this adventure. What a great gal to work with!
These neat folks were neighbors of Susan and me, and shared knowledge, ideas, and critiques of our own. This is CorgiSews, posing with Peter. Another neato lady!

Peter graciously posed with me---and, yes, I had his wife's permission! Finally, Peter's wife can fix a sandwich for her hubby! This is Zach, of Cobb Hill Cheeses, who worked his butt off the entire class!
